Hungaria uses only a special and unique technology, all of our products are made by Méthode Transvasée. Although this method is quite laboursome, it is highly successful, since this procedure ensures that the sparkling wine contained in each and every bottle is of the same quality. That makes it possible for you to enjoy the same refreshing sparkling wine experience every time.
The production of sparkling wine requires wine that is entirely healthy, light, has a clean taste, a fine aroma and a light bouquet, and is always of identical quality and composition. Such wine is produced by blending. This wine is called base wine or cuvée. Base wines of Hungaria sparkling wines are mainly from the vineyards of the Etyek and Pázmánd area. Tirage liqueur and yeast are added to the base wine before it is filled into 1.5 litre magnum bottles. The base wine is fermented for 2-3 months. Then it is aged on the sediment in bottles for a much longer time, up to 1 or 1.5 years even.
After emptying the fermented sparkling wine into a sealed, cooled and pressurized tank, the sugar content is adjusted by adding expedition liqueur. The sediment is removed by filtering and the sparkling wine is rebottled into Hungaria distribution bottles. The bottles are closed with corks and wirehoods, then labelled and finally packaged.
